It's great to be home. After a productive pre-season, Altona City SC is back at H.C. Kim Reserve and we couldn't be more excited for the season ahead.
With uniforms on their way and expected to arrive on time for 26th April — the start of the MiniRoos and Junior Leagues season — everything is shaping up for a huge year at the club.
This season we've formed a Junior Committee — Dan Welch, Joseph Theuma, John Sirotic, John Sortino, Jonny I and Nelson Buttigieg — to support our junior program and keep club families informed throughout the year. Feel free to reach out to any of them with feedback or suggestions.
What a tournament. The She Unites Cup delivered one of our most impressive collective performances in recent memory, and we couldn't be prouder of every single player who represented our club.
Altona City was the only club with a team in every single age group — a testament to the depth and commitment of our junior program. And to top it off, our U17/18 Girls won their group. Congratulations, girls — you were outstanding.
There is something truly special happening at our club right now — and it's really exciting to be a part of it. This season, three of our standout junior players, Emily, Yuna and Sarah, have earned the opportunity to train alongside our senior women's squad. They earned it — through their attitude, their work ethic in training, and the effort they bring every single game day.
Senior Women's Coach Angelo, Technical Director Nelson, and Female Junior Coordinator John Sortino have been working together to build a real, structured pathway connecting our junior, reserves, and senior programs.
This pathway is open to every player in our program. Every single one. No exceptions. The future of female football at Altona City is in great hands.
The junior boys have been busy this pre-season, competing in galas against Westside Strikers and Keilor Park — fantastic preparation heading into the league season.
Our teams also represented the club across several major tournaments:
Congratulations to all our junior boys for a strong pre-season. The competitive experience gained will be invaluable heading into the league season on 26th April.
It is an exciting time for our U20s and U23s, with a new project underway that has already delivered early positive results. Head Coach Phil Devetak oversees the program alongside Omar Achi (U20s Coach & U23s Assistant), Viraponn Daravong (Assistant & GK Coach) and Storm Meletis (Assistant Coach).
Through the first six rounds, both sides have played attractive, possession-based, attacking football. The U20s have even given opportunities to some of our U18s boys — showing them that the pathway into senior football is real and within reach.
We encourage all families from our junior programs to come down on a Saturday. For our Junior Boys, the U20s and U23s represent their direct pathway into senior football at Altona City. Come and see your future.
Know a little one ready to fall in love with the beautiful game? Altona City SC is running a 23-week NewRoos program designed for kids aged 4–6 years — and 7-year-olds new to the sport are warmly encouraged to join too.
Former Socceroo & Olyroo — Joe represented Australia internationally, earning 8 caps as a striker and competing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He played professionally across Australia, Belgium, Austria and Sweden, winning the 1998–99 Belgian Cup with Lierse SK. After retiring, Joe founded his own Soccer Pro Academy. Your kids are in exceptional hands.
Spots are limited — don't miss your little one's chance to learn from a genuine Australian international in a fun, welcoming environment.
Junior team members will have the opportunity to walk out alongside our senior players on match day — a nurturing experience to feel the energy of senior football up close. We encourage all families to attend and stay to cheer on the senior teams.
